MG white mambas, as they have been nicknamed, are proven winners. The introduction of the unique paddle shaped tenor tongues to our bagpipe reeds, give improved stability and strike in. In comparison to the original carbons, they are a little livelier, however they do not have the over buzz normally associated with carbon-tongued reeds.

Michael Grey Book 7 has over twenty traditional music-loving contributors there’s no doubt that this collection of music is the most diverse Michael Grey has yet to publish. Every flavour and texture of pipe music heard today is given a little space. The tunes in the full colour book span the core repertoire of the Great Highland Bagpipe (and maybe a little beyond). The huge cross-section of big-talent contributors include: Bernard Bouhadana, Ryan Canning, Duncan Chisholm, Bruce Gandy, Scott Garden, Ann Gray, Nick Hudson, John Lee, Bill Livingstone, Allan MacDonald, Dr Angus MacDonald, Iain MacDonald, Angus MacKenzie, Angus MacPhail, Donald Ewen MacPherson, Iain MacPherson, Sean McKeown, Duncan Nicholson, Dougie Pincock, Neil Smith, Terry Tully, Craig Turnbull and Bob Worrall. Simon Thorp, artist and co-founder of Viz magazine provides the cover illustration with one of his great creations, Finbarr Saunders [“and his double entendres”]. Grey was inspired years ago to name a tune after the cartoon master interpreter of the double meaning; the tune is featured in this collection along with its namesake, a bespoke piping Finbarr Saunders. In Finbarr we see the lighter side of the world (and who couldn’t use a little more of that?).

Micro-Pipes: Electronic Practice Chanter Made by Ross. The Micro-Pipes are an affordable practice chanter that electronically reproduces the sound of the Standard Great highland Bagpipe chanter scale in the key of b flat without drone accompaniment. The notes are played in a very realistic manner by covering electronic touch sensors, positioned to exactly match the finger spacing of a regular pipe chanter. You can increase or lower the volume of the unit to suit your requirements. This unit takes 2 AAA batteries. There is no external sound box on this unit so head phones which come with the unity are used to hear the sound. If you are in the market for a low cost high quality electronic practice chanter, than this is the one for you. Headphones are included. A soft case is available for the MicroPipes

The moose valve is a valve that fits in the blowpipe stock. It fits in by inserting the valve into the blowpipe stock, and then tightening it into position. It does not require any modification to the stock, or re-tying the stock into place after instillation, as the valve is installed from the top of the stock. Once fitted, the moose valve also acts as a stock style water trap.
